Our Founder featured on BBC RADIO Essex breakfast show with Ian Puckey to discuss knife crime!

Hello everyone!

We are thrilled to announce that our founder featured on the BBC Radio Essex breakfast show with Ian Puckey. If you missed it, we had a deep dive into a pressing issue that affects our communities: knife crime, with a particular focus on Southend.

The backdrop for our discussion was a shocking video that surfaced, depicting youths brandishing machetes on the bustling seafront—right in front of families enjoying what should have been a carefree day out. Incidents like this send ripples of concern through our community, reminding us all that safety is paramount. We cannot ignore the gravity of such behavior; it’s a wake-up call for all of us to address this issue head-on.

During our conversation, we explored the potential of implementing knife arches in Southend as a possible deterrent. While some view this as a necessary measure to enhance public safety, others have raised valid concerns regarding its implications for civil liberties and community trust. It’s a complex dilemma, and one that requires careful consideration. I firmly believe that early intervention is key!

The conversation around knife crime is multifaceted and requires thoughtful dialogue and collaboration among the police, local government, community groups, and, most importantly, the community itself. We need to ask ourselves: Do we believe knife arches could make a difference, or should we be exploring alternative solutions to tackle this pressing problem?

I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to share their thoughts on this matter. Let’s engage in a constructive dialogue that helps us find solutions to keep our loved ones safe when they’re out and about in our community.

Thank you to Ian Puckey and BBC Radio Essex for providing a platform for this important discussion! Together, we can work towards making Southend a safer place for everyone.

Stay safe and engaged!
